Common causes of poor TPE product toughness:

Excessive filler addition reduces tensile strength and flexibility.

Overuse of sprue and regrind in the material formulation.

Low - molecular - weight base polymer fails to meet high - toughness requirements.

Degradation due to excessively high processing temperatures, leading to embrittlement.

Insufficient plasticization caused by low processing temperatures.

Solutions:

Reduce filler content in the formulation.

Limit regrind usage to ≤25% to maintain material integrity.

Switch to high - molecular - weight base polymers.

Confirm optimal processing temperatures with material suppliers.

Check for under - plasticization:

Dull/matte surface finish indicates insufficient heat.

Lackluster sprue suggests low melt temperature.
